Welcome to the season finale of web talks. I'm Evan.

I'm Jess.

And I'm Mike.

And there's no train this time.

No one gets that joke.

Haha. Behind the scenes,

no.

Wire today had 67 ounces of matcha and maple syrup. Shout out to Nicole and Dan for getting us a giant thing of maple syrup for shooting their mini monix.

Yes, you also get your thumbs stuck in the maple syrup. Did

I get my thumb's stuck in the maple syrup hole?

Yeah, those plastic maple syrup jugs. The little handle on them is either too small or too big or whatever fingers

is like a pair of scissors. Like I always get my thumb's caught in pairs of scissors.

I want to clarify that it wasn't like zooming into the maple syrup to like lick my fingers or anything it was on handles a little handle

that I know that's exactly what you're doing. You're like a little bear dipping into the the bee hive. Like you just stuck your thumb in there. No, testing the waters. But

I did learn that I like maple syrup in my matcha.

Thus, the double whammy of Macia in sugar.

Yeah, just caffeine and sugar going haywire. Sugar.

I've been a little haywire today. Yeah, Mike's annoyed with me

just in time for recording our season finale, season finale,

which we're doing a season finale. Now when our seasons technically not over because we've kind of run out of people to talk to

our intention this season was to talk to couples before and after their wedding. And it just turned out that we didn't have very many weddings this year. For some reason, I don't really

I couldn't figure out why

we have actually quite a few upcoming weddings October. A lot of engagement sessions. Everybody wants New England in the fall foliage. So the plan is that we will talk to some of those couples and record and start our 2021 season with some of those couples.

So what have we learned this year, though? Anything?

Just a few things.

We've learned that we still need an accountant.

We had one and now we don't

shout out. We still need an accountant.

Will you learn that 2020 was not the best year to have our breakout year as a business?

Yes,

yeah. We've learned to get out of bed.

That is something you struggled with this year,

and not cry the day.

This podcast I think has been helpful. Being able to just talk to different people, whether it's the couples that we work with other vendors that we've worked with just kind of having some other human interaction during quarantine and stuff like that, I think it's been been really good for our mental health to have some conversations with people and also learning a lot about the different aspects of weddings and views on stuff.

I like connecting with a lot of the vendors because I do feel like I've learned a lot. You know, we had vendors that we recommended just because we liked working with them. But now I also feel like we kind of know them on a little bit more of a personal level too. So you know, we just like working with them and their style and their vision fits. You know, usually our style and vision. So

yeah, I think that can be a real positive thing for a couple to have vendors working together who are familiar with each other and then even friendly with each other. Beyond just work so I think that's a really cool thing.

vibe is like the word of the year. Yeah, it's like a good vibe for your day. Right everybody that vibe.

So Jess, what was your favorite moment of the podcast this season?

I don't have one.

You don't have a favorite moment in the podcast. You just love it all.

I like to talk to Lillian from la Vega bridal. Because I like dresses.

Yes, you're very fashion forward.

I'm not at all fashion

forward in your mind.

Not even in my mind. No.

What was your favorite moment, Mike.

I really liked hearing about DJ Dave's for into, like, block party like drive up DJ kind of situation. That was really cool.

How to drive up DJ?

Yeah. What about you, Evan?

I really enjoyed talking about our love story, Jess. But also I Katie karlberg was very entertaining.

They love you, Katie.

I think he's a good person. I've never met her. I think she be cool person to hang out with.

Another thing that we're looking at doing in the offseason, and that I've actually started to look at more over the couple of days is how to actually start like mine in Katie's actual magazine. As we can do it as like an online thing where it's not we can like the ones that I'm featured in, we can like get it printed. If people want it printed, you can get an online thing. Yeah. So yeah, I want to really kind of hunker down and look at that stuff, connect with her. So that might be something in the works to guys, and

I'm pretty hopeful for next season. Having these interviews in person, I think will be way more, way more fun. The phone thing actually worked out pretty well. quality wise, there's some hiccups here and there, but we've missed your face. Yeah, really, it would be just a lot more personal, you know, in the room together in the room where it happens in the room where it happens.

Oh 2020 was Hamilton the year of Hamilton

is we might do just like a full on Easter egg episode of Hamilton references and then people will have to guess how many were made. And just listen

and guess and you'll win a prize?

Oh, yeah. We'll do that in 2021. Will like have some giveaways?

Yeah, give away first episode Ruby what it man?

Yeah, well sleep under a rock all winter to make sure that we can make that joke relevant. Of course, we'll take suggestions if there's something you didn't like about our show.

Yeah, something you want to hear more of. I know that. Less of, you know, or less though.

You want to hear fewer sniffles from Jess. You know,

she does not have a coke habit.

She does have a macho habit,

mochi habit and an allergy to cats. Here we are.

So what about some of our longer term plans and goals? What kind of? Well, I do want to think about first

I do want to give a shout out to our bride Burnham Morse because she did request that we do an episode on maximizing upcycling. And we do have that episode in the works and planning on it. So it is coming, I promise you.

We have a couple of couples who are upcycling Jeannie ices

doing some DIY stuff. repurposing.

Yeah. And I'm really excited, because, you know, I've kind of gotten into their Pinterest boards, and, you know, we had a meeting with them. And I think that they're gonna do a really, really good job. And they're gonna have a lot of techniques and things to teach other people. So that's an episode that I'm very excited for in the future. They don't know they're going to be on yet. But they are

they will, will be on

long term goals. How long? How long are we

talking? Well, I mean,

where do you see yourself in five years? Yes.

Five years, just anything in the, in the,

I mean, ultimately, ultimately, having some kind of studio is like a must have for me. Because there's so much studio work that I want to do that we're just kind of like missing out on, even if it's like Christmas minis with like, you know, your kids and you know, boudoir sessions and things like that. I want to have the studio set up with the appropriate lighting and, you know, things that make it very comfortable.

Right, we have like kind of the ability to do that kind of stuff. Now on a small scale. Just having the space where it's quiet, you can control the light. Yeah, stuff like that.

I mean, the lights the big thing, because sometimes, you know, boudoir sessions at people's houses, lights aren't great, and it doesn't accurately represent my work the way that I want it to be. So being able to have a place that I can control whether that's a studio in our future house or whether we you know, rent a studio somewhere else. It's just kind of dependent on where our future goes.

Yeah, it would be the one thing in your life that you could control.

can control.

Depression be gone. Package date,

the depressional way, a long term long term. I think ultimately, we would really love our own venue.

That'd be really cool.

venue

doesn't look like he's entirely on board. Oh,

well, for me, I love shooting everywhere in anywhere. And if we have our own venue, then we're shooting one place.

I don't think that's true, though.

I mean, if you're booked on a weekend, that your venue you're shooting it.

Right, but I'm sure that like other people could book our venue and not book us as sir.

Well, it depends. Are we? Are we our own premiere vendor?

Well, we recommend ourselves. No, but I mean, I think Yeah, to your point, it would be open to anyone. Yeah, exactly. Because they're kind of like a separate entity to Yes, business. Yeah.

There's so many different styles of photo and video out there. And maybe somebody wants a more dark and Moody, D saturated look, and I don't you know, if they want to rent our venue and hire that photographer, great, that's fine with me. I want to make sure that your day goes off without a hitch and that you enjoy it not necessarily doesn't mean you have to hire us to do it. It's all about your style and what you want from your photos.

Do what you want. Do you babe, I guess that that'd be the the big theme of this season is couples should do what they want and what they feel is right.

I mean, I think that's my theme of life is just Who do you?

Because true?

I don't know.

Yeah. I mean, people get caught up so much in traditions and how they think things should be done. And really, there's no rules for anything like you're an adult. Yeah, you can do literally whatever you want.

Sure, your mom might disown you, but who cares, right?

If your mom's willing to disown you? Was she ever that great of a mom to begin with? Exactly. That's the question.

over such a trivial thing

over your wedding day. I mean, come on. Let's, let's not sugarcoat it.

So next year, hopefully COVID-19 is kabocha with vaccines, but we're not so sure. But whatever happens, where we do have a full slate of weddings and and hopefully, everything goes well.

Yeah, I'm hopeful. keeping my fingers crossed, but also willing to learn and adapt as we go. Yes, it's gonna need to happen. Probably wearing masks for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, we could be wearing masks the whole year, even with a vaccine because a certain amount of people have to be vaccinated before vaccine works.

Great. Or if it's only like, 50%.

Right, guaranteed. Yeah. And who knows what kind of mandates there will be or Yeah, you know, people refusing etc.

We won't get into that. But be that as it may, the next year should be a much better year than 2020. I mean, what has been worse? True. When people say 2020 they know what it no longer means hindsight. And

hopefully we have a new person.

I said it.

said, Oh, are you? Are you? So yeah, we're kind of losing our minds and quarantine over here. Mike and I speak primarily in Hamilton quotes Evans very annoyed.

I am by no ATIA.

I feel like Evan knows to Hamilton quotes. It's like I'm not giving up fish away my shot. And then he says non stop.

I will I will never give up my shot. And

then he says non stop all the time. And that's like it.

Because I my purpose in life is to annoy my wife.

That's great. That's a successful long, happy healthy marriage right there.

Yeah, I think so. keep you on your toes.

I'm planning on watching Hamilton on Saturday. Saturday morning cartoons.

Do you have anything planned on Saturday?

We have a family session at a Christmas tree farm and they're bringing their cat.

Yeah,

amazing. Sounds pretty sweet.

I'm very excited to bring in their two dogs who are tiny tiny dogs and then their new kitten. Leo excited about family sessions something different, fun. Cat on a leash at a Christmas tree farm. All right, how

do we wrap? How do you wrap up the season?

We need to like sing a song.

Raise a glass to every EDA

now that's the only song and

no no songs. Well, that'll do it for our inaugural season.

No girl. Yeah girl it's a hard word to say.

It is it's like in this just just just nessus tissue aluminium alumina, alumina, aluminum confectionery sugar,

I can say confectioner sugar.

We promise we'll be better at saying words next season on web talks. Until next time friends, love each other and vote outro music
